Noble Energy Hits Net Pay at Gunflint Well in U.S. Gulf of Mexico

Noble Energy, Inc. today announced that the second appraisal well at Gunflint well in the Gulf of Mexico, successfully encountered 109 feet of net pay within the primary reservoir targets.

Results of drilling, wireline logs and reservoir data have confirmed an estimated gross resource range(1) of 65 to 90 million barrels of oil equivalent in the primary structure, which was in line with Company expectations. The Mississippi Canyon 992 #1 well, located one mile west of the original discovery well, was drilled to a total depth of approximately 32,800 feet in a water depth of 6,100 feet. Commercial hydrocarbons were not encountered in the deeper exploration objective. Additional exploration potential remains in an adjacent three-way structure to the north, a candidate for future exploration following development of the confirmed resources.

Once operations are completed, the well will be suspended for future use. The net cost of drilling the lower exploration zone was approximately $15 million, which will be expensed in the second quarter of 2013.

Susan Cunningham, Noble Energy’s Senior Vice President Deepwater Gulf of Mexico, West Africa and Frontier Regions, commented, “Our appraisal program at Gunflint solidifies our plans for a subsea tieback development, with sanction planned for later this year. Along with our Big Bend discovery, we now have two major projects in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico targeting first production at the end of 2015. These developments represent significant value to our overall portfolio.”

Noble Energy plans to move the drilling rig to Troubadour, a low-risk amplitude prospect offsetting the Big Bend discovery, over the next several weeks. The well is expected to reach total depth late in the third quarter.

Noble Energy operates Gunflint with a 31.14 percent working interest. Other partners in the project are Ecopetrol America Inc. with 31.50 percent, Marathon Oil Company with 18.23 percent and Samson Offshore, LLC with 19.13 percent.

Titanium Explorer Drillship Starts Petrobras Contract in U.S. Gulf

The ultra-deepwater drillship, Titanium Explorer, started  its drilling contract with Brazil’s Petrobras in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, on Friday, December 7. 

The Titanium Explorer, formerly known as the Dragonquest, owned by Vantage Drilling, is contracted for eight years.

Under the contract, Brazilian-state controlled oil company Petrobras has the right to re-locate and utilize the Titanium Explorer on a worldwide basis.  Expected revenues over the eight-year contract term, excluding revenues for mobilization of the rig and costs escalations, are approximately $1.6 billion.

The drillship is a self-propelled, dynamically positioned vessel suited for drilling in remote locations because of its mobility and large load carrying capacity. It is currently equipped for drilling in water depths up to 10,000 feet, and is designed to drill in water depths up to 12,000 feet.

USA: Expro Wins TCP Contracts in Gulf of Mexico

Leading international oilfield services company Expro is celebrating two significant contract wins with Murphy Exploration and Production and BP Americas Inc in the US offshore region.

The Murphy award is for a three-year campaign offshore Gulf of Mexico, while the BP win will see Expro working on a significant campaign in the same region.

Expro will provide tubing conveyed perforating (TCP) services and its drill stem testing (DST) packages for both projects.

Expro is one of the largest global providers of perforating services, providing slickline, e-line and tubing conveyed explosives services. It employs an operational workforce of highly trained and qualified DST and TCP personnel across the global bases. Expro personnel is backed up by perforation experts onshore. DST offers the fastest and safest method of evaluating the potential of a newly-discovered hydrocarbon-bearing formation.

Expro has been offering both services globally for more than 25 years.

Expro’s North America offshore vice president Geoff Magie, said: “These are significant wins for Expro as Murphy is a new customer for us and BP has never used our TCP services before. Murphy is pressing ahead with major development plans in the Gulf of Mexico and this award provides a platform for us to showcase our products and services and provide a quality service.”

Now it is here and places the president in the African continent. The debate surrounding it will now end after the revelation, and those who have not been telling the truth will have to be made answerable one way or another.

The revelation, however, coming during this election year 2012 is doing no good to the democratic party.

API on Tuesday the 6th March evening received President Obama’s genuine birth certificate. API decided not to hurry in publishing it immediately because we wanted to be sure of the content value.

Now that the scrutiny has been done, the publishing of the Birth certificate that will clear the air once and for all is being done without prejudice. This may force the US president to apologise to the American people for having been kept in the dark on the issue for a long time now on demanding the publishing of the birth certificate by President Obama.

API will scan in here a letter from Coast Provincial Birth Registration Office in the next few hours or days, depending on how quick API is cleared to do so.

The purpose of scanning the official letter is to ensure that what we have received as you see here is fully collaborated officially.

Everyone knows that the documents are very sensitive and are not for misuse by any person to gain upper hand in political games.

It is, however, fair that the whole truth is brought to light and have the whole saga put to rest once and for all.

Many people seem to be of the opinion that there is a plan to hide from them the real thing. The US President says he is born in Hawaii. Many documents being circulated worldwide says otherwise. Therefore, it is very important to be outright and get the real thing on the table without witch hunt or without trying to malign the president’s name, unless the truth is not what he personally has said.

A duly signed official letter and a very special document will be scanned here for all to see – this comes in a few hours or days, depending on how quick API gets the clearance to do so. The two documents will put the issue to rest and clear the air once and for all who wish to know the true facts of this case file that has bothered a section of the American people!

It is only reasonable to continue working on this case in order to reveal the truth of the matter.

Another issue important to consider is why many are so interested in this. If Obama has ruled now for three good years and is now in his fourth year – and already asking for another term that will give him new 4 years in the White House, is there any wrongdoing when he actually has delivered leadership and continues to do so? He has not run down the country, so what is all the farce about where he is born? After all, he has lived in the US all his life.

Brazil: Deep Sea Supply Takes Delivery of New PSV

Deep Sea Supply, an international operator of offshore supply vessels has taken delivery of the newbuilding platform supply vessel (PSV), Sea Brazil, from STX OSV in Brazil.

A naming/launching ceremony was held on November 15 in STX OSV shipyard in Niteroi, Brazil.

The vessel is of STX 09 CD design, 87,9 meters long with ability to accommodate a crew of 26.
