Obama Is Eyeing Your Savings

Asylum Watch

Remember when President Obama said “there comes a point when a person has earned enough”? Well, it should be a surprise that he also feels that people have saved more than they need for retirement. Mr. Obama has given new meaning to the word “arrogance”.

With this scandal a day administration, it is no wonder some of their plans to get their hands on more of your money slip under the radar.

On Aril 12, 2013, the Wall Street Journal wrote:

How many times have you read financial-advice stories lecturing you to max-out on your IRA, save as much as you can in your 401(k), and even pay taxes now to change your regular IRA into a Roth IRA that will be tax-free until you die?

Well, be careful how much you save.

China Accuses the U.S. of Lying about Syria and has no Logic for War. U.S. doesn’t care about International Law

China has accused the U.S. of lying about Syria and is saying the U.S. has no regard for International laws.

They also refer to Iraq and Afghanistan in how the U.S. has made a mess of those countries and Bush has not been held accountable.  They say Obama will not be held accountable by the American people for Syria either, in a couple of year.

They say that the chemical weapons were from the Rebels (as per an AP investigation) but the U.S. is ignoring the truth!

When I contacted Norma Brown about her writing an opinion on this administrations plans to attack Syria in response to Syria’s apparent use of chemical weapons in their civil war (posted here yesterday), I sent her a link to the New York Times article, Air War In Kosovo Seen as Precedent in Possible Response to Syria Chemical Attack. I knew from some of her first posts at Ooobie on Everything that she had been in Kosovo in her capacity as a then US Foreign Service Officer and that she had strong opinions about NATO’s interdiction there. I was interested in what she would have to say about Kosovo being used as a precedent for sojourn into the Syrian conflict.  So, let’s see what Norma Brown has to say on the subject.

Taxation Without Representation

Asylum Watch

Correct me if I am wrong; but didn’t our ancestors fight a revolutionary war over the issue of taxation without representation some 250 years or so ago? So, tell me: how many of you feel that you are adequately represented in our federal government or any other level of government, for that matter? My guess is that, with few exceptions, you do not feel that the people elected to represent you in government are looking out for your best interest. They often claim they voted for some bill because it is for your own good; but what they really mean is that it gives them more power over your life. The elected and unelected people in charge of our governments believe to their very core that for every single problem in life there is or should be a law or policy to fix the problem. And, in almost every case…

134 House Republicans Vote Against Our Unalienable Rights

Asylum Watch

On a long enough timeline,

the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

**********

The above is the tagline for the blog, Zero Hedge, where I found two articles related to the now infamous National Security Agency (NSA). From the first article, I share this partial quote:

When it comes to the conversion of the US into a totalitarian state, few things are quite as symbolic as the construction of the NSA’s Bluffdale, Utah Data Canter,…

I agree with that sentiment. But, it was the second article the got my blood boiling when I read the following:

Moments ago, an unlikely grouping between a 33-year old Republican, Rep-Justin Amash, and an 84-year old Democrat, Rep-John Conyers, resulted in a House vote, that if passed, would have suspended the NSA’s “indiscriminate collection of phone records” and effectively ended the program’s statutory authority. Yet despite significant lobbying by the White…
